I have been envisioning the creation of an all-encompassing video guide to affordable green building construction, almost since I began research for Casa Construction 2 years ago. I believe that both internet video learning and affordable green building are ideas of the future that can happen today. A well-done sustainable home construction and filming project could set the standard for home construction for the next 20 years.
I'm looking for Green Building Product manufacturers to sponsor the construction. I’m also looking for an investor or construction company to help me with upfront costs to actually design, build and produce films for this project during the summer of 2010.
Affordable green building construction is the future of the home building industry. Thus, having an all-inclusive video guide to sustainable, affordable green construction showcasing an off-grid home would be an incredible resource for parterning organizations and the building industry.
I am proposing the construction of an affordable green-built home. I originally proposed this idea as a project for habitat for humanity, but they were unable to commit to the project. Now I am proposing it as a FOR-PROFIT project.
I believe we can produce a variety of professional videos for marketing sponsors, the home for sale itself, sustainable building, and your partnering organization! An interesting and challenging project For a profit and for a reason, to promote knowledge and use of affordable sustainable building materials/practices.
Having videos narrated in both English and Spanish would further their impact on our bilingual construction industry.
I can transfer the skills I've acquired in producing the first ever English-Spanish guide to home building construction into coordinating this project. I would love to offer my skills as a bilingual engineer, author, business owner, and filmmaker towards coordinating and managing this pioneering roject.
I believe that if investors can provide upfront capital and partner with local builders, and green building material manufacturers, and other organizations to build and film a home, that the sponsorships obtained will pay for half of the project, and the unique home produced will be highly marketable.
In addition to offering my services as coordinator of this project I own the land in which I feel the project should be built on. I own a 5 acre lot, off-grid in the San Luis Valley that I feel would be perfect for this project. The land is 30 miles east of Alamosa Colorado at 8,000 ft in elevation just outside the trees on the southern slope of mount blanca. 360 deg. views complete with wild horses that roam the neighborhood
This project will capture people's interests by balancing purpose, service, affordability, energy, and environment. It will be a unique challenge for myself and partnering organizations.
